Young Ladies Law & Justice League... of the Yakima Valley
About the Young Ladies Law & Justice League
Safe Yakima Valley in collaboration with the Yakima Police Department and countless professional law and justice volunteers have teamed up to provide young women in the Yakima Valley a mentoring program.
Our program is available to female students ages 13 years of age to 19 years of age, and our goal is to mentor young women in a primarily men dominated occupation. Currently, men make up 64% of all lawyers in the U.S. and approximately 80%, on average, of law enforcement officers.
Our model is unique to us. Our mission is to encourage youth through gender mentorship and to empower young women interested in the law and justice field.
For the 2017-2018 school year, the Young Ladies Law & Justice League will hold a kickoff event hosted by Heritage University Law and Justice student and will also consist of (6) other events throughout (2) months.
