Healthy Choices for Healthy Relationships is an evidence-based curriculum that equips teens with essential skills for building healthy relationships and making responsible decisions. Delivered through 13 thoughtfully designed lessons, the program uses engaging activities and age-appropriate discussions to help students navigate relationships in a healthy, respectful way. By promoting healthy decision-making, respectful communication, and positive relationship skills, the program helps reduce risk behaviors and contributes to a safer, stronger Yakima community setting young people up for long-term personal and relational success.
Healthy Choices for Healthy Relationships Curriculum Outline
Healthy Choices for Healthy Relationships is a comprehensive, evidence-informed relationship education curriculum inspired by three core findings:
• The strong link between child well-being and healthy family structures
• The emergence of skills-based programs as an effective, evidence-based approach
• Research showing that healthy relationship skills reduce dating violence, and increase protection against domestic violence and human trafficking
This curriculum equips participants with practical skills to build healthy relationships, strengthen families, and promote safer, more supportive communities.
