Healthy Choices for Healthy Relationships is an evidence-based curriculum that helps teens build strong, healthy relationships and make responsible decisions. Through engaging activities and age-appropriate discussions, students gain practical skills that support lifelong success.

Healthy Choices for Healthy Relationships is an evidence-based curriculum that equips teens with essential skills for building healthy relationships and making responsible decisions. Delivered through 13 thoughtfully designed lessons, the program uses engaging activities and age-appropriate discussions to help students navigate relationships in a healthy, respectful way.  By promoting healthy decision-making, respectful communication, and positive relationship skills, the program helps reduce risk behaviors and contributes to a safer, stronger Yakima community setting young people up for long-term personal and relational success.

Healthy Choices for Healthy Relationships Curriculum Outline

Many teens and young adults have their goals sidetracked by unplanned pregnancy, single parenting, and unhealthy relationships. This curriculum was created for this vulnerable group. In 13 lessons, participants, often for the first time, learn to make healthy choices about relationships, delaying sexual activity, pregnancy, marriage, and partnering.

Lesson 1:

Create a personal healthy relationship vision. 

Lesson 2 & 3:

Understanding yourself and setting your relationship expectations for a positive future.

Lesson 4:

Healthy relationship building blocks.

Lesson 5:

Relationship decisions.

Lesson 6:

Defining healthy vs. unhealthy relationships.

Lesson 7:

Preventing dating violence & healthy electronic  communications.

Lesson 8:

Sliding vs. deciding.

Lesson 9 & 10:

Communication and healthy relationships.

Home schooling
